Founding member FAQ

What if I donโ€™t have two stallions as a Founding Member?

Founding Membership rights do not require you to have a nominated stallion. It allows for the option for the
lifetime of the membership at reduced rates.

As a Founding Member can I nominate someone elseโ€™s horse?

The stallion nominated by a Founding Member must be owned, leased or managed by the Founding Member.
When completing the Stallion Nomination Form, if you do not own the stallion, you will need to provide the
Founding Member Lease/Management form with your nomination.

How do I nominate the stallions I manage?

Any Stallion that has a Founding Member Lease/Management form submitted may be nominated by a founding
member as one of their two slots. However, this stallion does not retain the rights if dropped by the founding
member, of if the horse is sold. If you are not a founding member you submit the Stallion Nomination Form. There
is no requirement that you own the horse except for that of the Founding Member slots.

What if I want to change a nominated stallion?

As a founding member, if you want to remove a stallion you have nominated and replace with a new stallion, an
additional nomination fee is required and the annual renewal fees remain at $1,500. If you want foals prior to the
nomination year to be eligible, you will need to pay the Retro fees of $1,500 for each year prior to when you want
the foals eligible

If you are not a founding member you simply do not pay your annual renewal fee. If you wish to nominate another
stallion you would need to nominate the new stallion, and pay the 10,000.00 nomination fee and 2500.00 for each
prior year that you want the foals eligible.

What if I have more than two stallions I want to nominate?

You have at least two options; a) you could buy an additional founding membership or b) you could purchase a
non-founding member nomination for your stallion for $10,000. The non-founding member nomination stays with
the stallion for life, and for those purchased in 2023 there is a $2500 renewal fee each year for the stallion life time.
This fee is only fixed in the year you purchase, but the renewal fee remains consistent for the life of the horse.
Option B is available to all participants with no limit on the number of nominations

Can I share a founding membership?

Yes you can split a founding membership, but it will be up to you to manage the two founding nomination slots. All
memberships will require one point of contact and name for advertising. Any partnership agreements are outside of
the Breeding Pays Futurity oversight.

Is my membership tax deductible?

The Breeding Pays Futurity is a registered 501(c)(3) Non-profit organization. $30,000 of the $40,000 founding
membership qualifies as a donation.

Can I sell my Founding membership?

You can transfer your membership at your discretion

Can I sell a slot?

Any stallion using a founding member slot has to be owned, leased or managed by the Founding Member. The
terms beyond that are not subject to Breeding Pays Futurity oversight.

If I do not become a founding member can I still nominate my stallion?

Yes, stallion nominations are open to all owners. For stallions that are not nominated via a founding member slot,
the nomination fee is $10,000 and the annual retaining fee is $2500 for the lifetime of the stallion, for stallions
nominated for 2023. Note renewal fees will be set each year for stallions nominated in that year.

For 2022 does my stallion need to be nominated to show his offspring?

The 2022 Breeding Pays futurity is open to all 2 year olds. There is no requirement for Stallion nominations for
2022. For 2023 and after, there is a requirement that only nominated Stallion offspring may show.

If I Nominate my stallion in 2023 will his offspring be eligible to show in 2023?

If you are a founding member, there is no Retro fee required for the 2023 show year. If you are not a founding
member and nominate a stallion there will be a retro fee for 1 year if you want offspring to be shown in 2023.
Thereafter, all two year olds to show mush have been sired by a Nominated stallion for the year of birth
